July 2011

P L A C E was an art showcase by a group of independent, young artists in Singapore. Held in a traditional shophouse, a relic from the city’s colonial era, the artworks displayed dealt with physical, mental and geographical spaces.

My job here was to develop a brand for the event, and create designs for all print and web publicity. The motif of the shophouse window in P L A C E’s logo is taken directly from the one that sits above the gallery space. I also served as the team’s Public Relations chairperson. The project took the team a full year to plan and execute, but it paid off: P L A C E played host to more than 600 guests in 2 weeks, including the Prime Minister! Photos courtesy of P L A C E Archive / Ian Ng / See Yong Feng
